Paloma Cocktail Recipe - Guest Blog By Advanced Mixology

We are all quite familiar with the sequence of flavors that the crowd favorite, Margarita, tickles our taste buds with. But that's not the only undeniably delicious cocktail that you should be spending your symposiums with. In fact, there's another tequila-based cocktail worth mentioning, and to say that its taste is on par with that of Margarita's might just be an understatement. It's the cool and refreshing summer drink of beautiful pink-orange color that comes with the mixing of citrus flavors and smooth tequila-Paloma!

Paloma, which means 'dove' in Spanish, is a classic cocktail that originated from Mexico. Lime juice and tequila are components that are part of its recipe which can also be found in the list of ingredients of its cousin, Margarita. Although, instead of orange liqueur, grapefruit and club soda were used. It might not be as famous to alcohol enthusiasts as Margarita is, but it surely has won over the approval of the folks from its home country. This explains the seemingly prevailing competition between the two, though if you ask us, they're both amazing in their own ways.

As expected from a classic drink, no excerpt from history has confirmed the source or reason behind Paloma's creation. However, there are several speculations that presented themselves. One of which is that it was created in Don Javier Delgado Corona's bar. The other is that it was named after a traditional folk song.

We may know little about its past and origin, but we sure know a lot about how far it has gone up the charts today. Ranking 32nd in this year's best cocktail list, it has a long way to go before it could be qualified in the top 10. But given more time and exposure, this cocktail is bound to take the top rank by storm before we all know it.

The best thing about this cocktail is that it's absolutely easy to prepare. Try our classic Paloma Cocktail recipe today!
